Growing from IN10T to INTENT

Blog by: INTENT

When INTENT (formally known as IN10T) was founded in 2016, Randy and Kevin saw a need in the ag industry to accelerate and streamline product adoption on the farm. The objective was to connect businesses with farmers, help introduce emerging ag products and solutions, and deliver valuable insights to everyone they worked with. In 2017, information was gathered on 25 fields with 25 different farmers in the Midwest. In 2018, an agronomist was hired on staff, and FarmerTrials.com was launched.

By 2020, the business had grown to encompass the most comprehensive field insights in the industry, with a growing client base. Today the business has expanded to North and South America, with over 50 employees. We are working with 1,000+ growers in the FarmerTrials Network and collected data on more than 30,000 fields in 2022.

Experiencing that kind of growth in a relatively short time frame provided extensive transformation for INTENT. The name ‘IN10T’ was originally chosen to signify the intention that needs to be brought to field projects, with the 1 and 0 signifying intentional data.  “We’ve rebranded to INTENT to maintain the spirit of that original name while providing clarity to the market,” commented Sheena Pitura, VP of Strategy and Marketing at INTENT.

John C. Maxwell once said, “Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.” So why change now? As we expand the business by providing more technology solutions, we felt a fresh new look would create a consistent customer experience across all offerings and provide a unified presence in the market.

Any successful business must adapt to an evolving market and ever-changing customer preferences. “With the growth opportunities that Apogee and the new INvision Trials bring to INTENT, the timing was right to freshen up the brand expression to support our growing portfolio of products and vision for the future,” stated Pitura.

Our previous technology helped us achieve great things, but to maintain superior client satisfaction the new INvision Trials platform will not only change the game in speed and scale of field trial analytics, but give us more knowledge, capabilities, and insights to help accelerate advancements across the agriculture industry. The ability to gather more data faster and with greater reliability brings more predictable success for our client’s products and services.

The future of agriculture is filled with potential. Our goal is to help everyone make the most of it, by generating powerful insights through the combined power of our advanced technology, practical experience, and industry expertise. Our branding may be updated and new, but the core and foundation of who we are has not changed. Our people and technology have been and will continue to be what makes INTENT unique in the Agriculture Industry.
